I know that it’s a somewhat format-driven fluke-stat, but, the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals are the only team in baseball history to lose 7+ games in a post-season and yet win a World Series ring that year.
No team has ever lost 8 games in a post-season and won it all that year – but, it’s still possible.
