   Have you seen what Kevin Millwood is doing in Seattle? Just a few years ago people were making a big deal about the Yankees signing him to a minor league deal.

   Point is, all the snark about taking a flier on a veteran arm always seems misplaced and misdirected. If it works and helps the club, how is that a bad thing?

   The Yanks have no use for Moyer because his profile as a pitcher doesn’t suit the team’s ballpark. However, if someone like him came along and there was even a 5% chance that they could help, it would be a sensible signing. Not that you’d pass up a chance to make another snide remark.
