The shocking thing on this list is John Olerud actually hit at least two career triples.
Wonder what player in history who hit for the cycle had the fewest career triples? Bengie Molina would be my guess.
Molina had the fewest of any player with a substantial career (more than 1000 PA). Outfielder Roy Carlyle had just over 539 PA, only 6 triples and hit for the cycle in 1925.
Fewest triples, any number of at bats?
Eric Valent (450 PA) George Kotteras (587 PA) both have 2 career triples.
Valent hit for the cycle in 2004; Kotteras did it in September of last season.
But Molina has over 5000 PA, 6 career triples, and hit for the cycle.
Olerud, by the way, had 11 triples in his career.
