I cannot believe the Yankees signed this guy – even if it is just for roster filler.
I guess that Omar Moreno was not available…

Hey, don’t laugh. In the winter of ’95 when the Yanks signed Mariano Duncan, I said sarcastically to my brother, “Great – time to print those World Series tickets”. You never know.
@ Steve L.:
Every year you get so worked up over the margins of the roster and who the Yanks sign to fill out vacancies. Why does this move upset you so much? Fukudome obviously disappointed Cubs fans who were expecting something better (probably unrealistically so) but he nevertheless had a .260/.361/.399 line for the Cubs/Indians. He’s been awful this year but the Yankees are obviously not relying on him to be anything more than an org. guy in AAA or an absolute emergency veteren as the 25th man on the MLB roster.
Once again you’ve ascended the mole hill and proclaimed yourself at the top of Mount Everest. It’s just not that big a deal.
@ MJ Recanati:
He doesn’t replace Darnell McDonald?
@ Raf:
Maybe he’s replacing Kei Igawa?
