    First 42 games: 21-21
    Next 24 games: 20-4
    Last 29 games:  16-13

Thank goodness for that middle 24 games.

Steve is in heaven right now. Yanks just got swept in 4 one run games.

      Everyone,
Today is Christmas Day at WasWatching (the general baseball site, not the Yankee version of WasWatching). Ho-ho-ho, Merry Christmas!! Statistics shall soon be presented to the masses showing everyone how awful your team is, and if they don’t show you awful your team is right now then these stats will show you how awful they will be in October. Nevertheless, it will all point back to the one man who put together this roster — he is our grinch and not some lovely Elf.

Christmas in July, only at WasWatching.

      @ Garcia:
(nodding my head in agreement and sad bemusement)

      @ Garcia:
Silly Rabbit. Everyone knows that Christmas for Cashman haters comes in October during the ALDS.

The King of Sample Size Preaching wants to create a set of four games as a sample size? Really?

Missing the point. The 16-9 stretch (.640) more properly belongs to the hot stretch (.833) that preceded it than the cold stretch (0-4, .000) that followed.

In other words, the main idea of this thread, that the Yanks have been playing mediocre ball for a month now, is false. My slice shows it’s been one godawful series.

No matter how you slice it.

      Agreed.

      @ Evan3457:
So, the last 4 games don’t count as much as the 25 games before them since they’re just four games and the most recent ones?

You sound like the guy who likes to discount Yankees wins against shitty teams.

      @ Steve L.:
I think you still missed his point :)

Well, uh, I think 4 games counts as, ummm, FOUR games, and 25 games counts as, ummm…TWENTY-FIVE games.

      Last I checked 25 was uh…ummm…ulp…lemme see here…carry the two…ummm…

      21 MORE games.
