    He’s not the first.  I remember Jeff Nelson taking up biking and really slimming down after he retired.

      You think about the old time players who were major leaguers before the 80′s, when these guys finished their careers they actually had to go out and find regular jobs. Today, a retired player is essentially a grown-up kid. Can you imagine a life where you get up, maybe go out for a jog, come back have breakfast, and then go play a round of golf. And they do stuff like that every day of the week!

      Yup. But, then again, there’s always the Dykstra and Fielder types who piss it all away.
