The King Is Perfect
Via Bloomberg –
Felix Hernandez pitched the 23rd perfect game in Major League Baseball history as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0.
It’s the first time three perfect games have been thrown in a major league season. Chicago White Sox right-hander Philip Humber pitched one April 22 and Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants achieved the feat June 13.
Hernandez struck out 12 of the 27 batters he faced at Safeco Field in Seattle to improve to 11-5 this season.
The San Diego Padres are the only major league team not to have thrown a no-hitter.
Dude has a bag of tricks out on the mound.

Before today there was one player who was in the losing lineup for 3 perfect games: Alfredo Griffin.
Now you can add B.J. Upton, Ben Zobrist, Evan Longoria, & Carlos Pena to that list.
Three perfect games against the Rays in under four seasons. Ouch!!!!
And another no-hitter, I think.
Oh, and if there’s anyone still whining about the 2-hitter he threw vs. the Yanks a couple of weeks ago, they can stop that shiite now.
I wonder what baseball historian will one day say when they reflect back to this year and account for all the No-hitters and perfect games?.. Is it the new ERA of Dead Ball or Juiced Ball?.
