Yankees Alter Pitching Rotation At The Last Minute

This is interesting.
At first, the Yankees were throwing Kuroda, Garcia and Phelps in the series against the O’s. But, now, it’s going to be Kuroda, Phelps and Hughes – with Garcia following Sabathia in the Rays series.
Maybe they didn’t want Sweaty Freddy facing the Orioles? Either that are they don’t want Hughes pitching on the road since he’s been on a roll at home lately…

Maybe Garcia is tired? Counter-intuitive that righty Hughes being effective at “all” at home. Seems like he’d get hammered. Concentration, perhaps?
Nix as the DH, hard to believe. I hope Cashman can pickup a bat tonight…
Hughes 6-0, 1.62 ERA last 7 at home.
How has Garcia performed against the Rays? I don’t think he has done poorly against the O’s. There had to be some juggling done with the off day, I suppose.

Like through waivers? I don’t think that’s going to happen. Who’s slated to be called up tomorrow, anyway?
You know it’s bad when I kind of want Alfonso Soriano back….

Yeah, the way things are going and the uncertain return of key players, I’m surprised that Cashman hasn’t done anything.
@ Steve L.:Steve, could be a blip, but maybe he has a pitching “for his life” mentality. If that’s the case, he could be on the verge of becoming a solid #2 starter. Wouldn’t be the first time that a pitcher has suddenly had the light switched on…
