And, every other contending team in the A.L. East and wildcard chase are circling Great Whites…
Damn, watching these games against the Orioles and Rays is like watching a replay of Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS.
Dead, team, losing.
This team needs an enema – and a few hemorrhoidectomies too. Actually, more than a few.
Where is Big Stein in his prime when you need him?
I wonder is Cashman is counting his lucky stars George is not alive today.. and for that matter so is Joe. Its hard to say this, but the Fat Lady is walking on the stage and about to sing!.
The comparison to the 2004 ALCS is appropriate; however, in terms of sheer misery I’d have to say that 2004 still wins out. But this season still has the chance to top that and, in a few short weeks, it very well may.
Speaking of 2004, I’m sure Red Sox nation is absolutely loving this. I know we all delighted in last year’s epic collapse. Shame on the Yankees for finally giving them something to root for.

The biggest compliment you can give someone is when you copy their ideas or follow their designs.. But this looming disaster of 2012 for the Yankees is not what I had in mind to emulate the 2011 RedSox!..
Remember, it’s not carved in stone that “disaster loom”, this could simply be because a lot of injuries cause guys to press, and it snowballs for awhile. When all the players regain their health, the mojo “probably” returns, and these guys could go on a serious roll. Next year though….

@ Steve L.:This is different than other Yankee panics over the last 12 years. This year the staff is one of the higher ranked in the American League. Slums and injuries go into a positive feed-back loop. It’ll end when/if they get healthy (in time, hopefully). They could be the buzz-saw like the ones that the Yankees have run into before. Sometimes that time-off allows the players to be fresher than the guys who grind out the whole season. Now if Joba, or someone else in that bullpen get hot…..
