Great stuff from Lee Sinins today:
3122 of Derek Jeter’s 3301 career hits have come in seasons where the Yankees made the postseason. Jeter is the 1st player to have 3000 hits in seasons in which his team made the postseason.
1 Derek Jeter 3122 2 Chipper Jones 2005 3 Bernie Williams 1917 4 Manny Ramirez 1796 T5 Joe DiMaggio 1699 T5 Mickey Mantle 1699 7 Yogi Berra 1684 8 Jorge Posada 1619 9 Alex Rodriguez 1592 10 Andruw Jones 1534

That is interesting.
Of course, it’s much easier to make the post-season after 1994.
@ Steve L.:
Say that to the Expos/Nationals, sans this year.
Oh, yeah, and the Pirates and Royals too. But, if you’re good, it’s easier. See the Red Sox, sans this year.
They had a stat pop up on one the games over the last week, somewhere- Jeter has only been active for three career games where the Yankees were out of playoff contention. Three.
