Not a good start, Hughes seemed to be getting squeezed on the first batter and Tex blows that bunt play.
The zone for both pitchers has not been the same so far.
I was really hoping Girardi would play Ichiro in center and play Ibanez tonight instead of Granderson. I just can’t stand watching Granderson any more.
Six of our regulars are batting .200 or less. Sickening. We have too many guys who just disappear in the post-season.
Strange start so far for Hughes. Five IP and only one run. But, lots of runners and lots of K’s too. I will be surprised if he pitches more than six innings.
Yankee base running mistake again.
That bottom of the 8th inning…
OMG.
Oh.
My.
Bleeping.
God!
What an embarrassment!
That’s just terrible.
Truly…terrible.
Cano, A-Rod, Swisher. Are you kidding me?
I pray to God the Yankees end this tonight. I really can’t take any more of this frustration.
So, so confused by Girardi pinch-hitting for A-Rod with Ibanez in that 8th. Did it work too tell last night? A-Rod has been OWNED by O’Day this series. Owned. Just mind boggling.
OMG Nunez is at SS ….
Hey Girardi, here’s a novel idea … maybe you’d like to try STARTING Ibanez in one of these games?!
*NOT pinch hitting I meant.

My thoughts exactly. Tick, tick, tick…

Why would he do that when he can hit Ibanez for the only guy who has a couple of hits in the game?!
and weaken himself defensively …

Yup. A-Rod has no chance against that guy. Zip. Nada. Zilch.
Detroit is up 2-0. No way Verlander allows his team to lose this game. We must win tonight so that we don’t have to waste CC tomorrow.
@ Steve L.:
Agreed Steve, not picking on A-Rod, it’s just the way it is.

Excellent point. But, the longer it goes, the greater the odds that anyone can win this one tonight.
I wouldn’t count the A’s out yet.
