Which would seem to prove that there is a “clutch-factor”, SABR notwithstanding. I am definitely Not anti-Sabr, but not all “studies” that “prove” any idea pan out in the end……(Heat-shield up)
The problem with that analysis is that A-Rod’s underperformance against good pitchers (.884 OPS) is better than most hitters performance (Jeter’s .830, for instance), and not by a little.
