The first six innings of this one…
Well, what can you say?
At least Pettitte did his job through the first six.
Based loaded, three times, and the Yankees can’t get any runs out of those spots? Really?
O.K., down by four with two innings left to bat in Game 1. You have Kuroda on short rest tomorrow. And, you have to face Verlander, in Motown, in Game 3.
It’s starting to look like Tigers in 6, or maybe less, this LCS.
I think they keep saying on TBS that the Yankees have scored 12 runs in their 6 post-season games this year.
What I want to know, is, how many runs have they score in their 6 post-season games this year that were not allowed by Jim Johnson? Without looking, I would guess that it’s around 7 runs, give or take, in 6 games.
But, hey, as I type this, Coke is coming out and A-Rod’s coming to bat…
And, maybe Alex will hit a 12-run homer in this plate appearance…
So much for A-Rod coming to bat …
I stand corrected, Chavez to PH for A-Rod.
Nice catch Austin, given away by Cashman, Jackson.
This A-Rod thing gets more interesting…
How long until he complains?
It kills me that the Yankees never even gave Jackson a chance in the bigs.
This team is sickening. I can’t stand watching them anymore.

This may sound crazy, but, it’s worse because their starting pitching has been outstanding, so far, this post-season. If they had been getting bombed in this games, then you just chalk it up to a total ass-whipping.
But, now, it’s like, “Damn, we could be winning ALL of these games, with a lot less stress, if we could just get A-Rod, Cano, Swisher and Granderson to start hitting…”

Yup. You know they kept talking about what a great 5-tool player he was and how he was untouchable and then they never even played him one game in the bigs.
It’s maddening. I don’t know what the answer is. How can we consistently be one of the top teams in the league year after year and then play so poorly in the post-season? The only answer can be that we have alot of choke artists on our team. Some guys shine when the spotlight is on them. Most of our guys wilt.

Basically, I think we have a lot of guys who can beat the snot out of crap pitching – like Granderson, A-Rod, Swisher – and who don’t hit the good pitchers. And, in the post-season, you see good pitching.
That said, attaboy Ichrio! Two run game now…
Wow, Ichrio’s HR is only the 2nd multi-run inning this post-season for the Yankees after the 5-run 9th against Johnson!
Cano has to get on base here, 3-2.

And, the whiff. Huge out.
TBS is right. Bunt, Tex, bunt…
Too late now, 0-2.

I hear what you are saying but I also think we have hitters who press and change their approach in the post-season. They become undisciplined, swing at bad pitches, and swing for the fences every time up.
OK, nice AB Tex. Tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th, you can’t ask for more than that, in terms of having a shot…
Ibanez!
RAH-OOL!!!!!
He is so cool!

Yeah but he looks more like huggy-bear in his stadium photo. Remember him?
Yup.
Gardner pinch running for Granderson? Is Curtis now that slow?
Steve L. wrote:
Yeah, odd move.
Damn! Foul ball. Thought it had a chance.
I really thought Martin was gonna come through there.
Martin swung out of his shoes on that first meatball he saw, that was not a good sign. Still thought he was going to come through.

I think Joe is on a roll.
He’s PH for, and benched, A-Rod in this post-season..
He lifted Swisher for defense at the end of the game on Friday.
And, now, he’s pinch run for Granderson.
I think he’s trying to send a “team” message to his troops this post-season…maybe.

and no one said anything last year after he posted a .249/.317/.374 season, either 8)

Not sure of the point. It would be one thing if he pinch hit for him.
