He’s a minor league free agent. He’s just 25-years old. And, he’s shown some power and strike zone command potential. Granted, he’s not a defensive-wiz, per some reports. But, if I were a G.M. and had open spot in my minors, I would kick the tires on him.

Stuck out 140 times in less than 400 at-bats, and can’t field. Not exactly useful!
@ hallofamer2000:
.375 career minor league OBA, in 2,569 PA, tells me that he has a clue on how to handle an At Bat. And, in 2010, his AAA SLG% was .497 (in 209 PA). Given his age, that’s potential. But, his issue has been staying healthy.
It couldn’t hurt to take a flyer on him, to see what he’s capable of doing. If he stinks, he gets cut and replaced.

Yep.
Then again, seems like he’s regressed badly since peaking in 2009 so there might be some skill erosion (or lack of ability to make adjustments) in his game already.
Can’t hurt to invite him to spring training I suppose.
BTW, the Rays signed him – I just saw in the transactions section of the print version of BBA. I wonder if he’ll show up in Tampa this year?
