      *GROAN*

Cashman, there was a reason Reynolds was moved off 3B. Just sayin’

      @ Raf:
Yeah, gotta agree there. Reynolds is a pinch-hitter/platoon player that can be hidden at 1B or DH only.

The team needs righty power but a Reynolds/Jeter left side of the infield will redefine the words “lack of range.”

Reynolds has a .146 career postseason avg. – a better fit for this team than Youkilis.

      LOL at you thinking 54 at-bats spread over 4 series in 2007 & 2012 means anything… :D

No. Just that he will be a perfect fit in this lineup in the postseason, especially if Swisher returns; the 187-strikeout per season avg. in the last six years, and .235 batting average, mean something.

I’d rather Reynolds than Youkilis…man if he’s a Yankee it’s gonna be hard to root for him.

Reynolds is also a perfect fit because he is a free agent and Cash, a.k.a. The Man With a Plan, can simply sign him.

@ Corey: Youkillis always frightened me in a tight ballgame, always played hard. He’s certainly not what he was, but you have to admit that he could bring some mental toughness the current Yanks seem to have lost. Be a shame, him having to lose that nasty facial hair if he came over. I mean he looked like a 1950′s era Eastern Bloc villain in a B-grade movie ;)

As opposed to Youkillis who is…what…a potted plant?

A potted plant with a .306 postseason avg., thus less of a perfect fit for a Cashman team.

Another One That Got Away From Cashman:

Dec. 6, 2012: “The Yankees expected that a major part of their stay at the Winter Meetings would revolve around obtaining a replacement for [Rodriguez]. [T]he Yankees have [most recently turned] their interest to free-agent slugger Mark Reynolds.”

Dec. 9, 2012: “The Yankees may have inched closer to signing [Youkilis] as a substitute for [Rodriguez] when it was reported that… Reynolds was going to sign with the Cleveland Indians.”

Aug. 8, 2013: “The Indians are expected to designate struggling slugger Mark Reynolds for assignment. Reynolds, who signed a one-year [contract] in December, has been a major disappointment… batting .215 with 15 homers and 48 RBIs…. [T]he free-swinger has struck out 123 times and he’s only hit two homers since May.”

Granderson and Reynolds in the same lineup; “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have been.’”

Cashman’s had a chubby for him, long time now.

      As a backup for A-Rod…meh.
As an alternative to Overbay vs. LHP…slightly better than meh.

Have no idea what they’re going to do with the roster to get him on it…maybe cut Nix?

      @ Evan3457:
I don’t know if that would be the right thing to do, Nix is still the primary backup at 2b, short & 3b.

Though I’d be amused if it happened, it’s not happening.
