According to Mel Antonen of assorted baseball writings, Tim Raines is set to join the Blue Jays coaching staff. The former Expos great and poster boy for Hall of Fame arguments involving Jack Morris will be the outfield and base-running coach for the club in 2013.
After 4 years in Newark it’s great to see The Rock get a gig back in the big leagues.

He should be getting a gig as a HOF inductee…..
Good for Raines.
So, will Newark have a team next year?

This is the baseball equivalent to getting off the Titanic. That Newark team is hanging by a thread.
@ Joseph Maloney:
The Bears averaged 668 fans per game in 2012. Yes, six sixty eight.
That’s in a league where near 2,000 a game is pretty good and 3,000 a game is great.
668? Gosh, they should be shut down. That’s a joke. There’s more people than that in any local NJ mall at any given time.
And, for the record, in 2011, they averaged 997 per game.

Ditto. To me, he’s a Hall of Famer, and by a decent margin.
I’m going to make a few games this year. Don’t know why I haven’t yet, actually; I’ve been trying to make it out there since Rickey was playing.
