    Is there any chance that Mad Dog does not get elected to the Hall of Fame next year?

      If Maddux doesn’t make the HOF — and on a unanimous ballot — the entirety of the BBWAA should be rounded u and lined up against the wall for execution. There was no better, smarter pitcher.

      I wouldn’t say all of the BBWAA only the ones that don’t vote for him. Shouldn’t punish the ones that know what they’re doing.

      You know there’ll be a tool or two or five, who won’t vote for Maddux because __________ was not a unanimous HOF selection 40 or 50 years ago. Always happens.

      Agreed. Seaver should’ve been unanimous, but wasn’t. Maddux won’t either.

      Yup. We all know that Jeter will be the first unanimous guy. :-)

      Seriously, it took DiMaggio four tries to get into the Hall. Imagine that?

      It literally makes no sense to me what the thinking was at the time. He was both an amazing ballplayer and something of a national treasure. Why did they make him wait that long?

      Some writer will ding him on his defense, I know it. Just like some writer will ding Maddux on his postseason record.

      Watching Maddux coach the WBC it’s amazing to see how a pitcher with such great control when he was active has so little control over his diet now that he is retired. Dude has more chins that the bullpen of the WBC team from China…
