   Interesting George was grooming him to be the manager. I imagine Thurman would have been like Mattingly – spending several years with his children before coming back to the game. Maybe he would have been Sweet Lou’s bench coach when he took over as manager.

   Interesting, I wonder how Thruman would’ve fared under George and the specter of Billy Martin looming.
