I don’t know if we’ll ever see a player have 8 of these types of seasons? Jones, Mays and Piersall did come close. (They had 8 seasons with 14+ FR. And, Mays had 9 seasons with 13+ FR.)





Sammy Sosa??? Really?
Brett Gardner, back in the lineup this year (if he can stay healthy) was 35+ FR and 23+. The guys he’s replacing were -5 last year.
If the Yanks move him to CF, and he drops to near average, he’s still replacing Curtis, who was -10 last year. Curtis, if he moves to left, will likely be at least +5, even accounting for the switch.
The probably 25 run gain, defensively, will offset some of the offensive loss.
