Difficulty loading the site and, unfortunately, sometimes difficultly loading the page after leaving comments (which causes failure in posting comments).

Thanks. I have the same issue – luckily, Mozilla saves the data and if I keep hitting refresh, eventually it posts.

You should tell your host to start doing their job……..

I do have an inquiry into them. They’re not seeing anything on their side. That’s why I was hoping to hear what others are seeing/experiencing – that maybe something would come up as a clue to the issue.

      @ Steve L.:
There must be something in either the apache error logs or ubuntu server logs.

for shits and gigs I telnet’ed to port 80 on waswatching.com to see what I would get:

      302 Found

      Found
      The document has moved here.

      Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Server at oldcarlton.skiltech.com Port 80

It is not good to advertise your web server vendor and OS :) Hackers love that info.

I have experienced the same problems that MJ noted above. It’s probably the only thing he said that I ever agreed with. ;)

I’ve had, “site won’t load” or “site down”….

    8. March 7th, 2013 | 8:23 am

      @ LMJ229:
      @ KPOcala:
Thanks. I’ve passed this thread to my host so that he knows it’s just not me. Hopefully they can address it. Thanks for your patience!

    9. March 8th, 2013 | 1:54 pm

It may have been the email plug in. I have disabled that now. Please let me know if anyone else still experiences the issue now. Thanks!

    10. March 8th, 2013 | 2:16 pm

That didn’t work. But, the host has increased the logging – with the hope that, when it happens again, maybe we’ll catch something. Thanks again for your patience.

    11. March 10th, 2013 | 8:54 am

I just took out all the plugins. See if that helps. Please let me know if you still experience any issues now.

    14. March 10th, 2013 | 10:42 am

Now I just need to figure out which plug in was the issue :-(

    15. Evan3457
      March 10th, 2013 | 11:38 am

Yeah, I was having the same issue, but I figured it was just my browser and plugins. That’s why I have a repeat reply in one of the threads.

Seems to be working OK now.

      Thanks. For me too.
I think it was the Twitter feed plug in.
I just noticed I had no Tweets since October.
And, no one told me – so, I guess no one is reading them! :-)

More and more, it’s looking like that was it.
Let me know how the site is working for you today, if you have a chance. Thanks!

      @ Steve L.:
For whatever reason, I had trouble posting comments just now to the Milton Bradley jersey thread. It took two tries but got it to work. I think the key is to just copy/paste comments before hitting “submit” and if it doesn’t work, just pasting and trying again.

    19. March 11th, 2013 | 10:39 am

Yeah, it’s still a work in progress. Turns out it was not the Twitter plug in. Still trying to figure this out :-(

      @ Steve L.:
Have you had anyone else take a look at the logs from the server? (aside from the host) Maybe they are just missing something.

      Corey wrote:

Just them. I would not know what to look at and for…

Now I think it was the wp-cache plug in. I took that off and it seems to be OK now…

    22. March 11th, 2013 | 1:08 pm

Looking more and more like it was the wp-cache plug-in.

Couple of issues but didn’t lose my post. They went through when I got the server error.

Whatever the issue is, it seems to be intermittent.

Corey – thanks. I may take you up on that.

I have taken off all the plugins now except WordPress.com Stats and Akismet. Lets see if this helps. Please let me know if anyone experiences the issue now. Thanks!

      March 13th, 2013 | 8:47 am

I am viewing this site from work on IE8 and noticed that the removal of all plugins means no more quoting of comments or responding directly to other commenters.

Not a good development at all.

    33. March 13th, 2013 | 9:04 am

I will have the quote respond buttons back once we determine it runs fine without all the plugins.

Then it’s adding back a plug in, one at a time, to see which one is the issue.

    34. Corey
      March 13th, 2013 | 9:16 am

I’m sure you probably thought about this already, but have you changed anything recently (as in just before the http 500 errors started)? Like upgraded wordpress or a plug in or anything for that matter?

Since your machine is probably on a server that is hosting multiple users (I’m guessing) the host could have made a change for another user that is causing this as well. You should ask the host the same question.

    35. March 13th, 2013 | 9:45 am

No changes on my end, that I can tell, that were about the same time as when the issue started.

    36. March 13th, 2013 | 10:00 am

No issues for me this AM, so far. Everyone else good?

    37. March 13th, 2013 | 1:16 pm

Reactivated Datafeedr Random Ads V2 plug in at 2:16 PM on 3/13

    38. March 13th, 2013 | 1:52 pm

Seems like the site is a little slower with the ads up. But, it’s not freezing the way it did with the issue.

I only got in once, so far. Anyone else get it?

    59. Corey

I tried to post that I got multiple 500 errors earlier, but I couldn’t :)

Could be something you turned on today or yesterday. Then again with this kind of stuff it could be something completely unrelated.

I forgot to reset the clock. It’s obviously a caching issue. I have sent an email to the host. Thanks!

    65. March 19th, 2013 | 11:48 pm

OK, now, I took off all plug ins sans WP Super Cache, to see if it was that combining with something else.

Please let me know if you have any issues now. If so, then we know it’s only WP Super Cache

      March 20th, 2013 | 2:25 am

It just blooped out on me again, while I was trying to post my reply in the “Matt Adams” thread. Took me to the, “sorry, the page isn’t there. 500 internal error” screen.

Funny thing, though. When I type a comment, and try to post it, and the site does that to me, I go back in my browser to the comment, copy and past it into Word just so I don’t lose it.

And then, without clicking on anything else, I hit the Submit Comment button, and it posts on the website without any further problems. I’ve done this now 5 or 6 times…go back to the comment, copy it to Word, then click Submit. It has always posted immediately without any more problems. I have no idea why.

Don’t know if this information helps you at all, but I thought I’d mention it.

    67. Raf

500 errors as of this morning

    68. March 20th, 2013 | 7:32 am

      It helps!
I am taking Super Cache off now. That should fix it.
