I guess Ben Francisco was not the answer? And, all the calls to Raul Mondesi to see if he could come out of retirement were probably not returned…

This one isn’t so hard to explain. With A-Rod and Tex on the shelf indefinitely, the Yankees are short of their signature type of player — aging, overpaid, and past his prime.

If there was an award for comments, this one would win.

And it’s a pity he’ll arrive too late to have his image included on the season tickets. But I hear a bobble-head doll giveaway is in the works….

Wells is 34, and didn’t hit lefties last year.

So…I have no idea what they hope to accomplish with this one.

The way I see it: Once Granderson comes back, if Hafner hits, then Wells is the DH vs. LHP only. It’s the Andruw Jones role – meaning he will hardly play. Is he going to be happy with that?

Unless, maybe, Joe will sit Granderson against LHP this year and then Gardner plays CF and Wells will play LF…

Still, he’s not going to play a lot. Unless they are going to cut Hafner?
