They can’t stop him, unless they eat the remainder of his contract.

      Which they ain’t doing.

Speaking of the Devil, something that’s been buggin’ me for awhile, and so I finally did a search on the “The Great Nolan Ryan”. Funny, but he really had a “funny” career path. Wasn’t he somewhat of a Clemens mentor, of sorts? Anyway check this out and see if this is a normal career.

      @ KPOcala:
Funny how? Ryan threw hard for a long time. Struck a lot of people out, walked a lot of people too. Kept himself in pretty good shape and wasn’t one to get caught up in distractions.

      @ KPOcala:
Could the Express have used PEDs? Maybe. Then again, look at Mike Schmidt’s career. And, George Brett. Also, Joe Morgan. Ditto, Bert Blyleven and Rick Reuschel. They all played about as long, and late, and around the same time as Ryan. Did they all use PEDs too?

And throwing over 300 innings in a season in his forties? And his K/9 goig up? And this after teams wouldn’t touch him because his elbow was “hanging by a thread”? And as for the elbow, I’m almost willing to be bet someone elses’ life that he didn’t have surgery 😉 And NONE of the above players got better and better after 36, for that many years. Only a handful of players, ever, could say the same, and they seemed to have gotten “better” in the last 15 or so years. Saying that, I “know”, that a good number of players use ‘roids starting in the late seventies. And I know, ‘what the hell’……………….
