Is he next in the line of pitchers that Brian Cashman gave away for nothing (like Ian Kennedy and Tyler Clippard)?

He had a bad 2010 season and got passed on the depth chart. As such, he was traded to acquire a bat off the bench that the team needed for the stretch run. It would been nice if the Yankees were a more patient organization but they’re not (and never have been) so that’s why he was traded.

OK, which is it? The Yankees can’t develop pitchers or they are good at developing but trade them for specific needs?

      ERA’s Outpacing FIP/xFIP (2.63, 3.85/4.32), and his BABIP is .250 (.304 career)

Looking at his peripherals, he’s Ivan Nova or Hector Noesi.
