• Tommy John For Matt Harvey?

Matt Harvey is headed to the disabled list with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament.

The Mets will try and rest him before opting for Tommy John surgery.

I wonder if Phil Hughes will now try and sign a one-year deal with the Mets for 2014, as a starting pitcher, using Citi Field to help his numbers, and then try and get a long term deal elsewhere after next season?

What a shame for Harvey and the Mets.

It’s definitely a bummer for baseball because Harvey is fun to watch.

Then again, Mets fans should’ve expected it. This is a totally “Mets” thing to happen.

It would make sense for him to do so, as it would make sense for the Mets to approach him since they’ll now be one arm short in their rotation.

      1) Agree about it being a bummer. Harvey looked like the Mets best pitcher since young Gooden, possibly Seaver.

      2) Also points out how pitching just vaporizes for most organizations. Teams like the Cards, Braves and Rays are very few. Mets have lost Harvey, Gee, Mejia, Niese and Hefner to various injuries of various severity this year alone.
