While attending yesterday’s Yankees game was painful, one thing that I will always remember was seeing Xander Bogaerts going yard. When he hit it, I told my daughter that I thought it went 460 feet. (Remember, I was sitting there, in person, at the time, and making an estimate.)
At one point, on the center field scoreboard, they said that Bogaerts was the third youngest active position player in the majors behind Harper and Profar.
That’s OK, after all, the Yankees have Cito Culver! (OMG, seriously…)
Anyway, that was one big blast. Like I told my daughter when he hit it, people that young are not supposed to hit a ball that far in a big league baseball game…
…but, he did.
