    So, really, why should the Yankees expect Derek Jeter to be a full-time SS in 2014?

    At best, the Yankees should look at what 40-year old Barry Larkin did in 2004 – where he appeared in 85 games at shortstop.

    And, if they are smart, they better have someone on the roster besides Jeter who can handle short for at least 80 games, if not more, next year.

      I would not expect someone on the roster, besides Jeter, to be able to handle short for at least 80 games, if not more, next year.

      The Yankees have a lot more problems to address. Jeter had a great year last yr.
