This season, Martin was like Jim Sundberg behind the dish.  Last year, not so much.  In fact, he cost the Yankees runs with his defense in 2012.  So, what happened?  Why the difference?

No idea what the difference might be but perhaps it’s one (or more) of the following:

      -Better coaching?
-An injury issue that has been resolved?
-Preoccupation with his contract status last year?
-Fresher legs due to (slightly) fewer games played than last year?

RM had a bad year in 2012, at the plate, and, compared to himself, behind the plate. It happens, and one can carry over to the other.

The Cashman-bashing on this site goes too far sometimes…
