• If Cano +/or A-Rod Are Gone In ’14, Could (Would?) Jeter Move To 2nd Or 3rd?

    Inquiring minds want to know…

In general, it seems to make more sense having a 40-year old with one ankle play 3B, or even 2B, rather than have him play SS…especially when his range wasn’t that good when he was younger and had two legs.

I was laughed at 2-3 years ago, when it was obvious that he should have done it for the good of the team. As far as I’m concerned, the guy giving you the money to play tells you were to work….

PS, if Cano is signed they should move him to third (he’s got the arm, a least), and pick-up Infante. Never mind the idea that he’s “less valuable at third BS”. His bat would age better, and decent second basemen can be had…….

Why not put Cashman at second base? He played second base at Catholic University, he’s only six years older than Kuroda, his $3 million salary will not count against the luxury tax threshold, and he can swing the bat, according to some…

@ Kamieniecki:I think Joe Morgan would be the better choice. He’s played the game, and “smartly”.
