Brett Tomko last pitched in the majors back in 2011.

He’s 41 now and pitching for the Omaha Storm Chasers. Basically, since 2010, he’s been hanging on in the minor leagues.

But, he’s still at it…at forty-one. Dude must really love to compete.

In February, 2009, the Yankees signed the journeyman at the age of 36. Tomko managed to get into 15 games as a reliever with Team Cashman before he was released in July; in those contests he held a 5.23 ERA, and gave up 19 hits in 20 innings…

In January, 2014, Brian Cashman contacted the 40 year old Tomko about a possible Major League comeback. It will be interesting to see if Cashman contacts him again in 2019…

While in the Dominican, scouts from numerous teams – including the Mariners, Indians, Red Sox, Marlins, Nationals, Dodgers, and Mets – all spoke with Tomko and expressed varying degrees of interest. The veteran has also chatted with the Angels and Yankees and will be throwing for the Orioles on Friday.
