He’s playing like a man who knows Brian Roberts is toast.

It seems the only one that doesn’t know that Roberts is toast is Girardi.

You don’t understand — Roberts does all the “little things” that don’t show up in the box score (or in any other statistical measure) that help a team win. (Sarcasm alert.)

Yeah, Girardi favors players who remind him of the way he played.

This is what drives me nuts about this organization. Brian Roberts is a perfect example. I would much rather see one of our young rising players than an old, washed up player who has no place in our future. I would assume Refsnyder can at least match the offensive numbers of Roberts – that shouldn’t be too hard!

Refsnyder’s K zone judgement is dubious at this point. Even in his current red-hot streak (20-40 with 8 2B, 1 #B and 2 HR) he has 7 K and 0 BB. Hitting .371 at Trenton for any significant length of time is impressive, though.

The Yanks just promoted him to AAA. Let him get to AAA first for awhile.

You jumped the gun by a couple of days, but he did play in Scranton last night and got his usual two hits.

Brian Roberts, OPS-wise, is 18th of 27 in MLB (min 150 PA). That’s below average but not pull-your-hair-out bad. His 0.9 bWar has him at about 2 bWar for the year… dead average.

Considering we all believed 2nd base would be our weakest position, that ain’t horrible. Mr. Jeter sits at 0.6 bWar.

Sori, McCann and Beltran are all hovering around 0 bWar, and the 3 COMBINED have under 0 bWar.

Anyone complaining about Roberts must not be watching any of our games.
