This team has the potential to be really good in 2018. But, with Cashman and Company at the helm, I am sure they will screw it up.

As far as the rest of this year, now it’s time to play spoiler and have some pride in doing it…

There are 3 ways this could go now:

      1) They collapse this weekend, get swept, and it causes them to emotionally pull the plug, and they have a disaster road trip, and finish at or below .500.

      2) They keep playing a bit, but lose the series they’ll be playing, gradually sliding back to a few games over .500, which is what they were most of the season.

      3) They fight on for the next week or so, hanging on the fringes of the race, and wind up where they are, about 10 games over.

For what it’s worth, my money is on #2.

      Swept.
It would be tragic, if I had thought, at any time after the end of June, that they were a legit contender.

Really, just the luck they’ve been carrying for the last 6 weeks reversing on them.

Steve, ‘beggin’ the Colonel’s pardon’, but who “Exactly” built this team foundation from a huge avalanche? Theo?

That’s always been the Cashman rub. Everyone wants to give him plaques in Monument Park for solutions. But, the same everyone wants to forget it was his plan that created the problems that need solutions.

      Not his.
      Well, not his alone.
      The overall plan is Hal’s.
