If Didi Gregorius plays 150+ games in 2017 and again has an OPS+ of less than 100 (as he’s done his whole career with respect to OPS+) then he will become only the 3rd Yankees player in franchise history to post 3 such seasons.  And, the first one to do it in a half-century.

Sir Dud is kind of an odd nickname for a player who contributed 3.3 bWAR in 2015 and 2.2 bWAR last year, played a key position well, and did it for the pretty much the league minimum.

Ok, I realize that considering an odd trend which has SS/secondbasemen hiting better than LFers for a few years now, and that the OPS+ “suffers as result. But really, with the exception of Jeter, who since Bobby Richardson ( a big “MAYBE”) has been a better SS than Didi? Bucky Dent? It’s one thing to knock and want to “get rid of” a player. But quite another to find someone better!
