Meredith Marakovits has been the clubhouse reporter for the YES Network for six years now – including this season.

Kim Jones had the job for seven years before Marakovits. Perhaps 6-7 years is the lifespan for a personality in this role?

Of course, if and when the Yankees relieve Marakovits, they’re going to take heat for it – as many will say the dismissal was due to her getting fat.

It may make sense for the Yankees to replace her with a very old and ugly dude to eliminate any claims that the whole thing was appearance-driven? And, yes – no pun intended – I am available.

Maybe she ought to take some weight off for her own health’s sake, never mind her career…

YES should have let her go years ago, she’s not a major market talent. If she covered the Somerset Patriots for a living, no problem, but the Yankees, no way. Kim Jones has talent, she knows how to work on camera. Meredith was bad when she started, and amazingly shown virtually no improvement.

I’d have to agree that 6-7 years is the lifespan. Maybe even shorter than that. How long were Waldman and Kay doing the clubhouse reporter thing before moving on?

I’d endorse Steve for the role, but I’m afraid he’ll throw a shoe at Cashman during one of his press conferences. 😛 😀

Thanks Raf. I have too much respect for my shoes for that to happen!

Safe to say, Brian Cashman is to Theo Epstein as Meredith Marakovits is to Heidi Watney?

I can never understand why the Yankees don’t have the best in everything and why they pay so much for what is not close to being the best?
