The Yankees have the 4th best record in baseball and the second best record in the American League.

There’s still a chance that they end up an 87-win team. But, it has been an amazing start to the season. And, it’s not chump change…we’re talking a third of the season.

As is often the case, August will be a test. If they are still in a good position come September 1st, then it’s time to get some serious expectations.

Well, when a team is at the very top in the most important offensive and pitching categories, after 2-1/3 months, they have to be taken seriously. I’m sure we’ve all seen teams start the season hot, think, “NFW, they’ll come crashing down soon enough. Next thing you know, they are drinking champagne. The team seems to have a lot of players who know how to PLAY THE GAME, and enjoy doing so. Well, the next big challenge is resiliency to pressure…..

They had a long hot streak that last 25 games. Then they cooled off and played a little worse than .500 for about 25 games. They seem to have gotten hot again, and two more weak teams to play on the Coast. Yanks never seem to win out there, but I’ll be disappointed if they don’t go at least 4-3.

Angels just took 2 of 3 vs. the Astros without Trout, which is impressive. A’s somewhat less than impressive getting manhandled by the Rays.

Yanks just swept the Orioles with a combined score of 38-8. Granted, O’s pitching is not tremendous, but that was impressive – I’m sure it made an impression on Buck.

Was suprised nobody got hit. A couple of fastballs up and in, but no HBP.
Love the way Girardi trolled Buch by deliberately waiting until after the game was over on Saturday to name Green the starter for Sunday. Buck’s pulled crappe like that multiple times in the past.

Putting the record aside. Are you enjoying the season? Lots of young guys stepping up and playing great ball. For me its been incredibly fun since the trade deadline last year.

It’s been fantastic; working out even better than I hoped. And no 1st baseman, nothing from the 3rd baseman after the first 3 weeks of the season, and almost nothing from the staff ace.

First base I thought would be a competition between Austin and Bird, injuries prevented that. Tanaka and CC have gone freak Friday on us as far as production. 3rd base is sunk cost but we are getting near league average there. Leaves a spot for Torres when he is ready either end this year or next.

Ever other spot has either met or exceeded what I hoped for this season. Its just been a pure joy though. Last night we lost but Gary had a 3 run shot (430+) then went 3-4. Just watching the kids play and produce make it enjoyable.

A stupid question: Is RAB still part of YES? If not, when did that stop?

This west coast trip has been annoying.
