No one asked. And, this is not scientific. But, here are my post-season predictions: Yankees over Twins. Diamondbacks over Rockies. Indians over Yankees. Diamondbacks over Dodgers. Astros over Red Sox. Cubs over Nationals. Astros over Indians. Diamondbacks over Cubs. Astros over Diamondbacks.

Yanks over Twins in AL Wild Card game.
D’backs over Rockies in NL Wild Card game.

      Dodgers over D’backs in 5 in NLDS1.
Cubs over Nationals in 5 in NLDS2.

Astros over Red Sox in 5 in ALDS2.
Indians over Yankees in 3 in ALDS1.

Dodgers over Cubs in 7 in NLCS.
Indians over Astros in 5 in ALCS.

Indians over Dodgers in 6 in World Series.

I am unimpressed by my own predictions. Both the D’backs and Cubs are live underdogs vs. the Dodgers.

IMO, “The Narrative” in the National media, but more so in the Yankee fandom universe is that the Yankees are a “pretty good team”. I believe that the team is much better, really, they have as much a chance to get to the WS as any of the post-season teams. Their pitching is a LOT better than I would have thought in spring training, and Cashman made some astute moves to develop what is in “theory” the best BP in baseball. The power is more than “there”, and their defense is generally very good. Interesting stat that I’ve been following all year:the pitching staff’s opponent batting average against. They are number one in the AL, and the spread was widening through Sept! Between the lack of hits, high staff K rates, and very good starters, the team isn’t likely to get “pecked” to death. Plus, of course, we very well may have at least two superstars for years to come, who drop bombs all over the park. Power bats, power arms=a chance………to……go……….all…..the……way! 🙂
