In my lifetime, the Yankees have only won Game 7 once – the Boone home run game (and I was there for that one). I just missed the McCovey liner game by one month (since I was born in November ’62). I don’t remember 1964. But, I sure did suffer the pain of 2001 and 2004. So, in the last 20,000 days, the Yankees are 1-3 in Game Sevens. (The Yankees did win Game 5 in the ALCS back in 1976 and 1977 – before that was a seven game series. But, if you’re going to count Game Fives, then the Yankees are also 5-4 in Game 5 of all the ALDS that they have played too.) In any event, if the Yankees do win tonight, it will be a pretty big deal.

I’ve been thinking of 2001 because the home team won every game. Unfortunately, the home team was the Arizona Diamondbacks.

I have a lot of faith in CC. Judge and Sanchez seem to be locking in better than they did earlier in the games.

All we can do is hope Girardi makes the right moves and the players can score some runs.

As I’ve been saying all along, even if this turns out to be ’95 rather than ’96, this young team will learn a lot. I see great promise for the future with this fun and exciting team.

I’m nervous about this one. The playoffs have been gravy to what has been a fun year, but man, it would be so cool to win the pennant, too.

Judge has certainly looked better, he’s been pretty awesome in fact, but I think Sanchez was a mess yesterday–that check swing grounder on 3-0 was rough. Hopefully he can settle down today.

Feels to me like we’re leaning on CC one too many times right now, but I’d sure love to be wrong. He’s surprised me all season. With Keuchel and McCullers available in the pen it’s going to be important to get to Morton early I think.

I’ll admit right off the bat, I thought game 6 was in the bag, I never expected them to lose. That aside, no matter what happens the team is playing with house money. I don’t think anyone expected them to get to the postseason, let alone be one win from the World Series. Kudos to everyone, the players, the manager and the executive team.

One more thing, Steve mentioned game 5, 76, winning that series was a mixed blessing, the Yanks got the pennant flag and that was great, but also got slaughtered by the Big Red Machine in the World Series. This Dodger outfit is loaded, whoever wins tonight is going to have their hands full.

Well I didn’t think their chances of winning game 6 were that high. But on paper Yanks have a slight advantage with CC and their pen tonight. I was a little annoyed Girardi used Green for 2+ innings when they were losing…I thought he could of used Warren in that spot. It was concerning seeing Robertson get lit up like he did but rather that happen last night when they were already losing. I think Hinch made a blunder using Giles since he ended up having a stressful 9th and threw like 25 pitches there.

Hopefully CC holds them down the first few innings and the Yanks can get a lead…I think the team who gets the lead first will have a huge advantage. Win or lose its been a great season for the Yanks and the future looks great….I’d love to see them pull it out and face the Dodgers…you know that is what MLB and Fox are hoping for too!

      Great season, Yanks.
With Cleveland having been knocked out, I update my Series prediction to: Dodgers in 6.
